Finnair broadens co-operation with BookIT

Finnair, one of the world's oldest operating airlines, has started to send textmessages to customers concerning departure and luggage delayes as well as flight cancellations.

Uusi Travel kone ja emanta.JPGMr. Paavo Virkkunen, Finnair’s marketing director, says that the new textmessage service is unique even in it’s present stage. However the launched service is only the first phase of the development project, in which new service features will be introduced by the end of the year.

These new features will include a feature, which informs schedule changes by sending an intelligent SMS (iSMS) to customer. This and the other iSMS features provided by BookIT will enable Finnair and it’s customers to interact personally with ease and precision. 

- For customer it is important to receive information about changes and other possible challenges as soon as possible. This gives the customer more time to adjust and react to changing situations. I believe, that this new service will be higly appreciated by customers, says Mr. Virkkunen
