HELSINKI, Finland—Finnair airline customers can check in for
flights by sending text messages beginning next month, the carrier
said Tuesday.
Finnair Plus cardholders who don’t need to check their bags can
receive text messages from the airline with flight details
including seat numbers. Passengers reply via their handsets,
confirming the seat assignments.
The service will be used on all international flights departing
from Helsinki and Stockholm, Sweden. Finnair said it won’t charge
passengers for the service, which can be used on all handsets and
networks.
