News » Finnair launches text message check-in
6.9.2004 at 13:30
Finland's flag carrier Finnair revealed on Monday the world's first text message check-in service. In a system developed by Finnish BookIT, the passenger only needs to activate the service and answer a text message prior to departure.
After Finnair receives confirmation that the passenger intends to board a flight, the system will send another message with gate and seat information, enabling the customer to bypass standard check-in queues, a Finnair statement said on Monday.
Finnair says the service should work with all handset models and operators.
